Yikes! Although I talk out loud to myself as well.. and often in the store.. next time someone looks at me funny I’ll just say... “I wish my chickens were here” so then maybe they won’t think I’m so crazy...

Oh no... well, if we’re honest.. we are probably all a bit touched

Today the chickspouse and I released our third and last batch of birds into the larger coop section for them. It is a hoot to watch 30 birds all of a sudden be "free" with 60 other birds watching through the wire fencing between the sections! It seems it will take about 8 weeks, until the youngest batch is 12 weeks old for them to mix. Unless....I get financial approval for a run. 40 8' pound in posts and 200ft. of 6' welded wire. Not for predators, just to confine the birds to a quarter of the pasture around our barn. I think the "crust" edge of the pie shaped pasture will be open.
