Bacteria and fungal contamination?

Today I decided I wanted a boiled egg to eat, so I collected two of my fresh eggs, one from a plymouth rock and the other from a welsummer. Once they had boiled I went on to peeling the shell off of the eggs. The welsummer egg was fine but when I opened up the plymouth rock's one this is what I found...

The egg looked rotten and had a vile smell.
I have been researching what it could be and came across bacteria and fungal contamination... could this be it? Is it just the egg that is contaminated or could the hen be contaminated herself? What could have caused this? How can I cure it? And could my other hens catch it?
Thank you so much for reading, please help!!
