my turkey eggs must have been too warm, they started hatching a couple days early. many are fine but some have bad belly buttons, they were bloody and stick out some. will that heal? is there anything i can do? or are they screwed?
If they are not to bad and you can keep others from pecking at them they can heal. You need to get it to dry up. Dip the umbilical cord in betadine solution or a 4 to 1 solution of Nolvasan Solution. Dip them a couple times a day until it is dry and healed.
I wouldn't mess with them...have had this happen and once they fluff out, have had no problems. It's either absorb or fall off. I wouldn't put any medicine on it as it still may be absorbing.
