I'm just glad there isn't a place like TSC near me. That would be very dangerous!
From the 2 Poultry Swaps I've attended off island I've come back with birds.
At the first one I was looking for female runner ducks to satisfy my drake who had a "thing" for chickens, even though he had 2 ducks of his own. No ducks that time but I did get 2 charming mutt pullets, one of whom laid an egg on the way home.
At the second one I was looking for more pullets and/or runner girls. No standard pullets on offer that day. No runners either but I got a funny grey runner/something cross with a pom-pom on the side of her head.
Hey - when you spend a fortune on ferry fares, you can't return empty handed!
To my credit, I didn't get anything at the swap on our island, and managed to get rid of an egg eater, with full disclosure to a woman who takes unneeded/unwanted poultry. I "rescued" that girl, Hannah, a few years ago so it was someone else's turn.
Our next swap is in 3 weeks.
I'm scared.
Stay tuned ...
