Every day I get one egg with a very thin shell
Usually it's broken in the nest. It's a pullet I think. Any idea what is causing this to happen? They are eating a complete feed. Is it a bad chicken?
I have 3 hens. 2 of them are laying (one of them is not, but I'm not sure which). I have an Americauna, a Barred Rock, and a Wyandotte. The Wyandotte is 2 years old, the other hens are 1.5 years. We had been getting 2-3 eggs a day until about 2 weeks ago. The Americauna is still laying almost daily; I know this because her eggs are blue. One of the other 2 hens is laying an egg about every other day & the egg shell is so thin, it's usually broken when I go to check, or breaks when I pick it up.
If it's diet, why isn't the Americauna affected? Her eggs are normal.
The hens get free range around my fenced-in yard, have plenty of space in their laying box, eat the same feed/table scraps, and all 3 are acting normal/nothing out of the ordinary.
Any tips to get the other 2 laying normally again?
