Not to worry...I laugh every time I use it and my 17 year old son just about died when I bought it

Here in VA we have the same stuff, but it's called Udder Butter.

Udder butter is actually different, it is more of a cream than an ointment.

The idea behind vasaline, bag balm, and oils is to seal off the skin so that the little critters can't breath. So anything that seals off the skin and prevents air getting through will work. You may have to remove his feathers to really get a good application.

I honestly believe that Bag Balm will cure just about anything, it is great stuff for cuts, scrapes, abrasions, canker sores (yep!), dry and cracked skin, and so many other things. Got dry hands in the winter? Rub them down at night with Bag Balm and wear gloves to bed. Those cows really have it good.
