bad hatch

My hatch date came and went. I had a egg with half developed chick. What would have caused this? Temps have been good. Just looking for advice for next time.

Sometimes you have good hatches - sometimes you have bad hatches. My first hatch was great - my second hatch ended up less than 10% of the eggs hatching. I hope you're able to figure out what happened so that the next time you'll have much better luck.

Not sure about humidity. I kept water in the bator. I am sure it was something I did. If it was half developed, then the egg was good. had to be something that happended during the sit.

Is it best to just purchase one of the temp/humi gauges from walmart? What should the humidity run? Temps were very good through out the sit.
