Bad hen butt issues. Help.

The purple spray is gentian violet, sold as BluKote at feed stores or TSC. It treats the wounds as well as discourages picking.

The purple stuff is Blu-Kote, which is gentian violet spray. I recommend Blu-Kote, usually available at the feed store, separation until they heal and the protein boost. Perhaps chick starter for a while. Even dry cat food, about 1/2 cup per day, will boost the protein.

Keep them within sight and sound of each other if you can for easier re-integration.

I will head to TSC tonight for the Blue-kote. I hope they have it. The TSC stores in Canada are not connected to the USA stores and we don't have nearly as much selection. There is one in the next town. Thanks for all your help.
I will be keeping them next to each other, as the rabbit cages are connected, and there just happens to be 5 of them. It seems like a sad twist of fate that I have to nurse these sick birds back to health because I just bought the 5 section rabbit cage at a garage sale just in case. Then I have to take these 5 birds without notice, to help a friend. Great.
