Bad looking chickens!!

My chickens look like they have the mange on there backs! When I say this I mean they have no or little feathers in a big place on their lower backs! Any ideas to what this may be?

Do you have a lot of roosters? Sounds like over breeding.......

do you have a rooster what is your hen to rooster ratio it could be that he is being rough with them when mating or possibly there is some feather picking from boredom

are they acting sick or normal i am starting to lean toward feather picking try giving them things to do like a cabbage hung from the ceiling or a treat to keep them entertained maybe expand their space it may be too small how big is their coop and run try to let them free range once in a while

You can try to put "aprons" on them, it does help. Also, does your rooster need to have his nails and spurs trimmed...sounds like it....good luck!
