Bad momma?

Why is my female duck throwing all her eggs out of the nest. She isn't getting rid of only bad eggs because I found one that was broken open that had a duck that starting to form in it. She walks around puffed out and quaking all the time when I'm around. I installed a camera to watch her and she doesn't do it when nobody is around her.

So every egg she has thrown out? then what? Is she then sitting on nothing? Maybe she is on too many?

She don't sit on them at all anymore. She did for a few days and then all the eggs were out of the nest. I put them all back in and she don't care to sit know them.

Some breeds have had broodiness bred out of them for high-production egg laying. She sounds like she still has some of the instinct just not enough to follow through.

What breed? I have Runners and Buffs besides my Muscovy and my Runners and Buffs have never shown any sign of being broody .

Male mallard and she's silver not sure what breed.

The best you can hope for is she'll try again and follow through this time.

Should I throw out all the eggs and make her start over?

How long has she been sitting? if she isn't interested any longer and she just started to be broody then I'd toss but if she had been sitting a while and when you candle you see life then you'll have to decide if you want to toss them or if you have an incubator put them in it and you incubate.
