I have an EE hen and a maran hen that wanted to set so I let them, and they ended up hatching out three babies. They pecked them to death though! Is this because it is their first hatch or are they just bad mothers. I have a golden Phoenix hen that is a wonderful mother, and has never done such a thing! Any help would be appreciated!
