Lol, so I've been actively posting on here for the last couple weeks (or week?) or so and realized I haven't used the new member forum to introduce myself!
My Partner and I live in Dacono, CO where we share 8.5 acres in unincorporated county area with his family. While I am completly new to chickens, his family raised them years ago. However, we will be raising them differently than they did (as is evidenced by the fact that we have chicks currently in our bedroom!).
We currently have 11 "accident" chicks
and we are supposed to have 25 coming by mail. The 25 we are getting from SandHill Preservation, and are supposed to be two varieties of Wyandottes and some Buff Orpingtons. *note to self: find the thread that has all those abbreviations explained in it* The first ship date was this past tuesday, and apparantly they didn't ship. So, I am hoping they will ship on the 1st, which is the other ship date. I'm also equally hoping they don't ship at all, since I've got a feeling we may have more than we can handle if we end up with 36 chickens! But, we will make do, as we always do! We currently have 1 each EE, Black Australorp, Blue Andi, RIR, NHR, WO, SS, SSH and three JG's. The 25 mail chicks are 5 each SPW and BLRW and 15 BO. I think I abbreviated everything appropriately
Any other questions just ask!
