Bad news with dewormer

Pics
Safeguard is an ivermectin which is one of the safest wormers out there. I don’t think your gonna have a problem. I accidentally overdosed a bird on Valbazen and that’s pretty harsh stuff. He was ok.
Safeguard is not an Ivermectin. It is fenbendazole which is a benzimidazole just like Valbazen. Both safeguard and Valbazen are very safe wormers and tough to overdose a chicken with either product. It's easier to overdose using too much Ivermectin.

Many people administer this. It wouldn't be my choice. But thats personal. I try to avoid as much poisons and medicines as possible in gardening, for my chickens and for my family. Unapproved medicines are a no-go for me.

Basically there are different standards for companies producing chicken and eggs for sale vs backyard chicken keepers. Rules vary by state and country as well.
Those companies producing chicken dont live long for meat processing, no need to worm them. Commercial egg producing hens are gone by year 2 and their feet never touch the ground, no need to worm them.

We have organic and free range chicken /egg industries too. Don’t you?
ps. Sorry going off topic.

I did 1/2 ml per bird using safeguard.
That's how much I would give a two-pound bird, and I would give it five days in a row.
