Yes, it is for goats. We use it off-label in the U.S. for chickens though. Egg withdrawal would be 14 days. This is for goats. Not approved for chickens. It it was for chickens it should say how long you have to wait before eating the eggs.
No.So...did I do something wrong?
Okay so...continue with the original plan
Safeguard is not an Ivermectin. It is fenbendazole which is a benzimidazole just like Valbazen. Both safeguard and Valbazen are very safe wormers and tough to overdose a chicken with either product. It's easier to overdose using too much Ivermectin.Safeguard is an ivermectin which is one of the safest wormers out there. I don’t think your gonna have a problem. I accidentally overdosed a bird on Valbazen and that’s pretty harsh stuff. He was ok.
Basically there are different standards for companies producing chicken and eggs for sale vs backyard chicken keepers. Rules vary by state and country as well.So...did I do something wrong?
Those companies producing chicken dont live long for meat processing, no need to worm them. Commercial egg producing hens are gone by year 2 and their feet never touch the ground, no need to worm them.Basically there are different standards for companies producing chicken and eggs for sale vs backyard chicken keepers. We have organic and free range chicken /egg industries too. Don’t you? Those companies producing chicken dont live long for meat processing, no need to worm them. Commercial egg producing hens are gone by year 2 and their feet never touch the ground, no need to worm them.
That's how much I would give a two-pound bird, and I would give it five days in a row.I did 1/2 ml per bird using safeguard.
