Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do. 
So I went to check my chickens today....to see how many eggs there were & lo and behold my rooster had an eggshell in his beak!!!!! That's not like him to do that because he's been around laying chickens a long time. What gives?!! Just when my girls start laying, he wants to eat the egg.
