Bad Rooster

Thanks for the suggestions. I feel a little bad because I chase him if he acts that way. I really don't want to make him more wild then he already is.

When our boy started acting up I would chase him and also would grab him up and put him under my arm and just carry him around for about 5 minutes. I also grabbed his neck feathers and gave them alittle yank. Not enough to pull them out but enough to get his attention. I would recommend your son always having a stick of some sort to use to scare him off. Not to hit him with but to use as kind of a longer arm. Our girls and boy will come up on the front porch and the only way to get them to leave is show them the broom. I don't touch them with it but that is the only thing they seem to be scared of. Maybe because it is bright red, all I have to do is pick it up and they take off. When ours would act like he was going to act ugly while holding him I would just sqeeze alittle bit more and he would calm down. If I don't pick him up now he acts like his feelings are hurt and will get all around me just so I will pick him up. He is rotten now, I guess I have created a monster when it comes to getting some love.

Your neighbor needs to kill that rooster.
A rooster can put a young child in the hospital.
I know someone who's little grandson just had a rooster's spur go INTO HIS EYEBALL!!!

I was attacked by a rooster on our ranch when I was 3 years old and remember it to this day.
I carried a long scar on my leg for years.

I put up w/my roo chasing me but not my child.

E-O eyeball that is BAD.

I use an big white fishing pole to "herd' my flock.

it makes it eaiser so I don't have to chicken chase. The pole comes apart to, one for each arm

it works llike the broom in that case. Red Rooster personally I would just pet him and tell him hes an funney chicken.

But if he attacks you or someone, I would stop it right away, right now I am trying to stop my roo from becoming an problem.
