So Guineas really keep ticks down? When I eventually move to a place where I can have chickens I might invest in some of the loudmouths.
The ticks are absolutely terrible here this year, and of course I'm a flipping tick magnet. All winter while I was out hunting and trapping I had ticks on me...no ticks do not die in winter. I had 4 on me in one day while squirrel hunting for just a couple hours, one of which was imbedded..funny story with that. I was hunting with my brother and he'd keep poking me with twigs saying "That's what a tick bite feels like." I've had ticks bite me before but it'd been awhile...not even 5 minutes later I felt that same poke on the back of my leg...got home and yep, there was a tick.
About 2 weeks ago, I walked down behind my parents to pull my trail cam off a tree and my dog, my brothers dog, and my mom's dog came with me. We got back to the house and I pulled one tick of mom's, 2 off my brother's, and later that night, 3 off of mine. I'm using Advantix on my dog, does that work better than Frontline in all your opinions?
There are pesticides you can use in your lawns, but since I know someone mentioned not wanting to use any, I'm not sure what else you can do. Ticks don't crawl to move apparently, they attach to animals and then drop off someplace else when the animal walks.
