Bag Balm for Scaly Leg Mites?

We are dealing with a Scaly Mite issue. We have 10 hens and 2 roosters. 4 to 5 of them have it visibly and a few pretty badly.

This is what we will be doing, starting tonight. Any other suggestions for improving the plan would be appreciated.

But i have a question. Can we use Bag Balm for a night/nights in the process.? I will be here with my hubby to do this every night for 10 nights before i have to go back down south to work. He won't be able to do this alone. (Unless we practice only him giving solo quick oil dip every night and see how it works or if he needs help when i am gone)

1st night (tonight)-Good coat of vasoline
2nd night-Warm water and dish soap soak and gentle scrub with old toothbrush. Then a light wash with white vinager or garlic oil. coat with polysporin/olive oil mix.
3rd night-Bag balm coating? or olive/coconut oil with some polysporin mixed in again.
Repeat 3 day course-1) Vasoline 2) soak/cleaning and vinager/garlic oil, the coating of polysporin/olive oil mix.

Basicly, after tomorrows soak and bath, it will 2 days with a polysporin/oil coat and then a night of wash, vinager, coat , 2 days polysporin/oil coat, then wash, vinager,coat repeat.

Suggestions, thoughts?

My moms chickens had scaley legs. All the chickens have to be dipped in vegetable oil for a week this will take care of the problem

Don't dip all of the chicken in vegetable oil, just dip the chickens' feet or the scaly part of it's pens. Vaseline, Kerosene, coal oil, Mineral oil, yes Bag Balm and maybe a hundred other oils will also work. ;<)

Don't forget to treat all your birds to keep reinfections from occurring.

Thanks for the comments and replies. We are alternating between vaseline and bag balm. I read that vaseline dries out there scales/skin really bad so i thought adding bag balm to the mix would help. It's anti-bacterial as well so that should help.

Tonight they get a warm water scrub with a toothbrush and then bag balm. We r on day 4 and today the coop got a full muck out and scrub with bleach. then a Mr. Clean rinse lol so far so good.
