Bag out of Layena package (updated w tutorial)

I love this! I have been saving my chicken feed bags just for this!! I hate making more trash than necessary, and I love repurposing things. I've even thought of posting on craigslist for people's feed bags to take from them for this!

LOVE IT!!!

I started making one of these today and don't think i'll be making another one!! I was getting so stressed out trying to get the triangle flaps sewn down that I had to walk away from it for a little bit, lol. I think I am going to add a liner to it still but need to take a break from feed bag part for a minute

After the first 50 it get much more easy!:barnie

Okay, so I finished the first one and my mother came over and wanted to make one so I ended up starting another. This one went MUCH faster!! So much easier with two people.

The first one turned out OK, but my sister insisted on making her boyfriend carry it through the store when they whent shopping so I haven't gotten a picture yet. I used a Gamebird feed bag for MY (2nd) bag though, I liked the picture much better and I was able to trim it down to where almost the whole bag was white with the sketch picture on the front. I did manage to make the handles out of a part of the bag that says "Nature Wise"... that made me happy

lol.

Someone messed up the tension on my machine so the stitches aren't the prettiest in spots but you can't really see. I will have to pick up some gold-colored fabric tomorrow so I can make a liner :)

I got them by accident last time I got feed. They were out of my normal stuff so they gave me that kind instead, I LOVE the picture on the bag though so I knew I had to make a bag out of it when I saw this thread!

They do still sell the Gamebird Feed but I haven't seen it at TSC/Del's before. It's Nutrena brand.

They do still sell it, It's Nutrena Brand Gamebird Feed. I haven't seen it at TSC/Del's before though, I buy my feed at the local hardware store since it's the same price as the feed store and better quality feed.

I REALLY want a duck bag but I haven't seen one yet =(
