Can I Use Bagged Sand That Comes In A Cloth Bag,such As For Adding Weight For Snow Traction?.I Want To Use It For Dust Bathing In The Coop.concerned That It May Contain Cemicals.any Ideas?.I bought it at home depot

Most sand is pretty clean. It shoudn't have chemicals added, but there is a slight possibility that it coul have heavy metals and other naturally occurring compounds like arsenic. That said, if it's locally sourced sand, it's probably no different than is in your own soil.

Yep. But for me, playsand is the cleanest, easiest to use and the chooks' favorite. I also get mine at HD.

Just put some out in a wooden box for my girls on Tuesday. It (the sand) was a bit damp and cold, but that didn't stop them from rolling around in...lol! I doubt any sand sold by HD or Lowes would have anything harmful in it...
