I'm this way also. My DH checks to make sure I'm not dead. I get dizzy when I stand up after bending over. I've come close but I have only fainted once. I'm generally cold unless I'm hot. It's been that way as long as I can remember. I avoid Drs. whenever possible. I'm afraid they just want to sell me pills and procedures. When I have went in I've been told my BP is normal though it is lower than lots of folks. In other owrds, you're not alone.
 
If you get some answers let us know too. I have similar but am not vegetarian. I don't know that its diet. I personally think it has to do with the BP. I know mine stays pretty dang low. I have to be very very ill, burning up with fever, ect ect before it ever ups to what the doctor says is normal. I know its a pain but if you can when these happen take your BP. I bet you will find a drop. I am in the middle of making out a health diary in hopes a doctor won't say "everythings normal your fine see ya next year." Usually if I can check mine in time I will find a bp like 60/40 which btw will scare the crap out of the nurses if they happen to catch one of those drops.
 
I second the orthostatic hypotension opinion. I have that, and sometimes when I stand up, especially if I haven't had enough sugar or liquid, things get kind of hinky... the can test you for that, taking your BP lying down and then standing up... if there's a big difference, Voila, there's your answer, and the BP test is painless! As far as managing it on your own, I'd be sure to drink a LOT of fluids regularly!
 
Sounds like your diastolic BP number is a little and I agree with the others who mentioned hypertension might be your issue. Just remember to tell the doctor ALL your symptoms, even if you are not experiencing them right then and there. Doctors need to see all pieces of the puzzle to know what is going on, sort of like a detective solving a crime. Besides, you are paying (quite dearly!) for there time, so don't be afraid to bother them! Also, don't be afraid to mention what you think it *might* be, becuase it just may be something the doctor missed.

A few years ago my hubby would be laying down (usually happened when he would be when it was time to get up in the morning) and would go to get up and get very dizzy, light headed, etc. The doctor told him he was very healthy, but it pulse was in the very low end of normal. So when he got up in the mornings or from laying down awhile, he first needed to sit up for a minute or two. He still does that to this day and he has helped him -- he doesn't have that issue anymore. His BP has always been normal.

This sounds like exactly what was happening to my son when he was suffering from bouts of hypoglycemia. Sometimes the body doen't regulate blood sugars and insulin properly. In a nutshell, you eat and your blood sugar goes up. Then your body releases insulin to process the sugar but doesn't stop producing the the insulin son enough and your blood sugar plummets. My son used to have very similar black outs and dizzy spells. The answer was to cut out all sugary foods and have healthy snacks between meals. This sort of problem won't be detected with regular blood tests. Even an A1C blood sugar test won't show anything abnormal. I can possibly be replicated with a glucose tolerance test, but not always. The absolute worst culprit for my son was high sugar drinks, like pop, fruit drinks, milkshakes, eyc.

Try a Chiropractor. I never lost vision, but I had horrific dizzy spells on and off for years, which was connected to my sinus problem, and after adjustments at the chiro for neck and shoulder problems that were pretty severe, I no longer had dizzy spells. It's all connected to the spine and its amazing what they can do. Won't hurt either, and they talk about nurtrition, if you get a good one, and what other things you can do to help yourself. Medical drs. are great for some things, but a chiro is just great for the things the MD can't touch or understand.

Now I rarely have those type of feelings, if ever, and I practically live on Dr Pepper
