This sucks.

I really really really wish it was possible for me to KEEP chickens, but-I can't.

The neighborhood laws disagree, and our yard ish tiny. And there are PLENTY of ferral cats by the house (30-ish, in a little coloney?). Already have two of my own, indoor/outdoor. I don't believe they mention poultry specificly, but they do say no livestock. Would chickens count as livestock, if it was maybe two silkies, or anyone small and nice, really?

Keep digging through those ordinances zimmy. When I lived in Jacksonville, our zoning said no livestock too, but if you kept going, there were exceptions for very small flocks of chickens, as long as the coop was no less than 50 ft from the nearest window/door of a house. You may find an exception in there that will let you keep a few hens.

SPLEE!

The coop would have to be 2x2 XP Our backyard is, like, my room enlarged (I have the second biggest room, though :3), which means it isn't much. And half of it's taken up by a)pavers, b)an orange tree.

But if I got them diapies, they could be inside more...

I know people use diapers on their chickens, but do you realize how much poop a chicken makes? I would not want to change a diaper that frequently, but that's just me

I meant to add, that very small flocks 2-4 hens (espcially bantys) could be housed in a medium sized dog house, it doesn't take a huge coop to keep them happy.

I do not know your financial position...however, here in Holland people have tiney yards...and they keep a couple chickens (my neighbors always ask "What is THAT" when they see my silkies...they dont even make the connection to a "chicken" )
THINK AVIARY!!!! ...a "walk-in" one >fencing and roofing would keep the feral cats out and you could go in to enjoy your birds and no one could point fingers at you and say "farm animals"...nooooooo you have "exotic birds"

I Like that idea. Just get a pair of silkie girls and make them an aviary. They aren't livestock, they're pets! I never thought of chickens really as being live stock, I think of them as poultry. :p
