Bait for a Racoon Trap

So i've had my live trap for a couple days and we put some marshmellows inside but still we have nothing. What can I use for bait??

i used little fish fillays. you could also try chicken tenders. ive also heard that if you put something shiny in there they will try to get it.(maybe a flashy fishing lure)

Peanut butter and sardines. The smell brings them in.

Sardines in oil. Partially open the can and wire or secure it way to the back of the cage. They never fail. They stink to high heaven after they sit open for a while. Those blasted cratures love them.

Yeah, tie the can to the trap so they can't just reach in and get them.

Yes. The oil they are packed in. Some come in a tomato sauce and the coons must have discriminating taste...they don't work as well. Maybe they smell a little milder. Who knows? All I care about is that they work and the ones packed in oil - really work.

) but their favorite food is marshmallows. they LOVE them or anything sweet
