Baking Egg Shells

How long and what temp do you bake your egg shells before grinding them up?

I usually hard boil my eggs and just use the left over egg shells to supplement their diet as needed.

I just throw the egg shell out to my flock after I open it and crush it in my hand.

not a problem here, key word I think, is crush the shells up in my hands

Thanks, I put them in the toaster oven for awhile until they turned dark and boy does it smell up the house!!

Next time I'll take your advice!!

After cleaning them out with water, we nuke them for 45 seconds or so. then pulverize them.
