I see other posts that describe eggs that smell bad, but I only notice the odor when I bake with the eggs or use them in pancakes or waffles. It is a wet feather smell, or a very chickeny smell. I have been feeding organic Co-Op layer feed. They eat so little of it that it's hard to imagine that is the cause. They free range but nothing in the yard is particularly odorous, and them seem to mostly just graze the grass. They also scratch about in the fallen leaves, and I do have a dog, so there's a chance they are pecking at his poop, but I haven't seen that happen. The eggs don't smell like any of the things I can think of that they might eat.
Why does it only happen when I bake? Any ideas for solving the issue?
