Balck Roosters

Welcome to BYC< Kathy. Glad you decided to join our flock. My wife's name is Kathy. Grueldrelands is an alternative name for the Breda fowl, a very rare, black Dutch breed. Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Are you wanting to get some Breda fowl (Grueldrelands)?

Thank you all so much for your help! After looking tru old copies of the Riverside newspaper, and finding several articles about my grandmother Mr.s Geo. Brunker, I found the name of the chicken! The tape is very old and garbled, so after reading thru the prizes given at the Riverside fair, and re-listening to the tape, it is Black Orpingtons! So happy to have found the name. I have photos of the paper I thot everyone hear might enjoy, of my grandmother's entries, and others. The article is from October 1913. I'll try and post them, but am having some difficulty doing that. Again, thanks for the responses, I really appreciate your help. And sorry, I really do know how to spell 'black'. :) Kathy Recicar
