Have a few chickens with missing feathers and was wondering could it be mites or my rooster. When my rooster grabs my hens he pull from the comb and sometimes the feathers and some chickens have lost feathers I have a big chicken who he never has been able to grab and she has all feathers they are 7 months old and this is my first flock they don’t seem to have anything on their comb or butt, but i still would like to be assured. Could it be mites or just the way he grabs them I separated him. How long could it take for the to grow them back they are still laying.

Thank you we seperated him since any idea to stop him from mating a lot since when we let him out he always grabs on any chance he has.

Is he young? They tend to be overly exuberant when they're first starting out. If he's a keeper otherwise I'd give him some time to mature more before giving it another go.

Sorry for the late reply he’s 7 months just like the hens. Yeah he’s my sisters favorite rooster, also any idea why he kicks us when we do no wrong?

He's probably just trying to show he's dominant. I've seen others suggest that when they do that kind of thing, you should pick them up and hold them like a baby for a while (or in another, similarly uncomfortable position where they can't get away or struggle really) to show them you're the boss and you're not here to hurt them or their ladies.
