An alternative to the wood chips is compressed pine pellets if they're available - though by now they should know what food is and be less interested in the pine shavings if you'd like to try them again. I like the compressed pine pellets because they're too big for a chick to even consider eating, and unlike the shavings they actually absorb moisture, break down and become great dust bath material. Of course either way, wet spots in bedding should be removed at least twice a day.

Definitely give them a gentle cleaning where they've been wet- looks like some poop may have congealed a bit where the chick was wet. If it's hard to remove, a quick snip with the scissors will do the trick provided there's no danger of cutting the chick, of course.
