Bald Eagle Chicken??

I'm not sure how much "ridiculously expensive" is but I've seen them go for $5 each & less. Birds, not eggs.

I'm very naive (and gullible) when it comes to the monetary worth of baby chicks and hatching eggs.
Wheaten Ameraucana males also look like bald eagles to me.
I'm going to have to pull out the notebook and write "I will not google 'Wheaten Ameraucana'" about 100 times, now.

We're so very limited on how many we can have that I just am going bonkers with all the gorgeous breeds out there!! Chickens were the furthest thing from my mind in regard to pets and food contributors - until recently; now I'm addicted and want so desperately to find out everything I possibly can about this Russian Orloff breed...and three other breeds that I'm fascinated with. There's just so very much to learn. *dizzy face*

LOL! Amen to that NYREDS!

Orloffs are a fun breed. The ones I worked with tend to get respiratory diseases that don't go away though. Maybe it's the beards and muffs? No idea if it was just that person's birds or the line. I can definitely see how that picture makes them look like Bald Eagles though!

Makes me wish you lived close to me.

...I'm trying to decide whether you two are saying that because you'd be schooling me in the appropriate worth of certain breeds...or if you'd want to take advantage of my ignorance! Why do I feel it is the latter of the two? You naughty birdies!

You didn't buy them from Greenfire Farms, did you? They are ridiculously expensive and they specialize in imported breeds. I was looking at their Rhodebar pictures and was impressed by the beauty of these birds. Love the red crele pattern. But they're too rich for my blood. I'll just be content with my Silver Spangled Hamburgs, Buckeyes, and Barred rocks. And my last lone Golden comet who lays the biggest eggs of the bunch.
