Let me give you a little background. I have 15, 6 week old chcks of various breeds. Some I know the sex of, others I am just guessing. Here is the problem, two nights ago we moved the chicks from the brooder to their nice big new hen house. Everything seemed to be going fine. Then we started noticing that there was a little blood on our Polish hens head. She has that really funky hair thing where the feathers kind of flop all over the place, anyway she has always had this one small area where the feathers are coming in. Today I went out to the coop and she has lots of blood spots and some swelling on her head and now the bald spot is lots bigger. I would post pictures, but I am using an iPad and don' t seem to be able to.

I am not sure who is picking on her. We do have one rooster that we know of, but I have never seen him pick, I really don't know who it is. I hate to separate her. We would have to put her back in the brooder box. I do have some blue stuff, Blukote? (forget the name) that is for scraps and stuff would this help? I am new to chickens and right now I feel like a bad chicken mama. Please help :(

I am also new to chickensbut do know that Polish or any top knot kind of chick/chicken is often the subject for torment within a flock I had to remove mine or the regular hens would probably have pecked her to death. Blu Coat does help if they have broken the skin or have a bald spot as it disguises this from the rest of the flock but the fact that she is different makes her a natural target. I solved the problem by getting more Polish lol and penning them by themselves

The weird thing is she never was picked on when they were in a smaller brooder. Two days after being put into the big coop, she gets picked on. Go figure....
