How do I tell if it's mites or from picking? I will try to get a picture later but I have my kids and wasn't able to catch the chicken. It's only on one chicken about a quarter size patch near the spine above the hip area.
To give a little background we live in the woods and they do have a good dust area. Nothing added in it. I did recently cut back their free range time due to them tearing up the yard. It's 10 chickens in a double sized dog kennel plus a med size shed for a coop. No new chickens they've all lived together for a year. No rooster but I have seen them mount each other.
