I have four hens.

For the past two weeks egg laying has dwindled down to like 2 eggs a week from the for of them. At first I figured it was the change of weather.

Then they really starting eating less...I figured it was because I had recently changed their feed. I usually feed them laying pellets, but two weeks ago I got them layer crumbles because that's all the store had.

The one has also been loosing feathers. I figured it was a molt....but now she has vast patches of bare skin, maybe 20 percent or more of her body. Two of the others also have slightly thinned out feathers also, no real bald spots yet.

I've dusted for mites. I'm letting them roam free in the yard, all day yesterday and today.

I think i'll go buy the crumbles again, just to rule that one out.

I'm getting concerned.

thanks

Molting would cover bald spots and not laying but the low appetite doesn't seem to fit. Have they been dewormed?

good idea. Apple cider vinegar, with the 'mother' is going in their water right now.

thank you
