A mix of transphobia in the community, and me scaring all those Christian ladies by wearing my The Satanic Temple sweatshirt into the studio. The transphobia was most likely the main reason, the sweatshirt was an excuse on their part to kick me out.Aww, thatās suckswhy did you get kicked out (you donāt have to say if you donāt want to)
Oh no! I'm so sorry about that. That's really unfair.A mix of transphobia in the community, and me scaring all those Christian ladies by wearing my The Satanic Temple sweatshirt into the studio. Yeah, but itās really just life. You win some, you lose some.Oh no! I'm so sorry about that. That's really unfair.
That's a really nice mindset to be in and I wish I could echo it instead of just being a pessimistic piece of sh!tYeah, but itās really just life. You win some, you lose some.
Been there. Still there sometimes. That's a really nice mindset to be in and I wish I could echo it instead of just being a pessimistic piece of sh!t
I wish more places around me were trans friendly, heck even most stores arenāt. I got kicked out before I got reassignment surgery, so people around me could tell I was trans with a bit of observation on their end. Most of the male dancers were pretty accepting, but they were a small minority of the overall community. Looking back, Iām glad I left that place. They got in a bit of trouble a few years back due to their behaviour.Ugh that suckssome of the other studios around me (that I had a choice to go to, but didnāt) are very careful that they come off ātrans friendlyā because if they didnāt, all of their male dancers would leave
I love my studio because it truly supports/accepts everyone (except criminals). they donate to the community, and every single dollar we raise from the Nutcracker goes to one of the charities by us. There have been some people who have said negative things about the studio (and even threatened the owner) but instead of making a big deal out of it and feeling sorry for herself, she said she was sorry for us that she put us in danger, even though she didnāt do anything. All she does is care for others, and never tries to ācompeteā with other studios
I've never understood why places/people wouldn't be trans friendly and accepting of members of the LGBT community. I don't really understand the logic behind it-why does it matter what gender someone is, their sexual orientation, their identity, etc? Same goes for racism and sexism.I wish more places around me were trans friendly, heck even most stores arenāt. Im glad you have a good studio, I wish I had more like yours around me.
I donāt know, but for quite a bit I was just called a man. Thatās it. Whenever I went to the doctors as a kid, they would call me male.I've never understood why places/people wouldn't be trans friendly and accepting of members of the LGBT community.
