I'm thinking of getting some. looking for hardy in winter ,friendly birds any ideas?

well, i guess i can answer you while im here! lol! i crack myself up

anywase i have three bantams. they are pretty cute.... i live in tx so it doesnt get too cold here.. and so im not sure how hardy they would really be. they tend to be okay in our winters here...but... thats not sayin much
 
Banties are pretty tough birds. Our EE's (Easter Eggers) and lone Silver Spangled Hamburg spent some of the coldest nights, this past winter, sleeping on their outdoor roost (in a fully enclosed run) as opposed to their indoor coop roosts.

This pic was taken when the night-time temp here in TN was in the low teen, heading down to single digit temps...

I have Bantam Brahmas, Cochins came through the winter!!!

Batam Rocks, RIR, Buff Orpintons & EE's will go through cold winter also!

They are very friendly!!!!

My little cochin bantams made it through our terrible Michigan winter just fine. I had a little porcelain duccle hen who had no trouble either.
