Banana Leaves. Will they harm my birds if eaten?

Absolutely can eat them! "Banana leaves are a good source of sodium, vitamin C, saturated fat, dietary fiber, added sugars, cholesterol. Product has one hundred five calories (three calories from fat), one gram of protein, 26 g of carbs and zero fat. In addition to their value as food wrappers for cooking, banana leaves contain large amounts of polyphenols such as epigallocatechin gallate, or EGCG, also found in green tea. Polyphenols are natural antioxidantsfound in many plant based foods." You may want to cut the leaves up some, to make it easier for the chickens to consume.

People feed pigs on the banana trunk.

Chickens are very good at not consuming hazardous plants. Most wildlife is also good at this. There are some plants that domestic animals might eat and harm themselves or at certain times in certain climatic conditions. Johnson grass comes to mind with herbivores.
