Banana Trees and Chickens, Not a Good Combo

Bought a 4' banana tree at a garage sale the other day (along with some other plants) and placed it in the back yard where my chickens run around. One morning I walked out back and the tree was laying on the side, figured it was wind or something. Well it started to grow back and was about 6 inches high. Then one evening I noticed it was back down to zero with noticeable beak marks. My banana tree is now in my front yard, hoping it will still come back. The tree must taste good.
