I was thinking about tagging the legs of three of my favorite chickens- all red stars- and i wanted to use the plastic leg spirals. Does anyone have experience with banding? Im going to get them from the cutler supply website and I want it to be as safe and harmless as possible to the chickens, has anyone done this before and gotten bad results? I haven't done this before, HELP! How do you do it? I'm not sure how old the chickens are but we got them about a month ago, maybe more. They will be picked on a bit when i add them to the older flock, and I don't want them to be a target. They should all be about the same age... though I don't know what sizes to get. If you look through my pictures, you can see some of the older hens and roosters, and the babies. I have a lot more pictures of the adults, but i do have a few of the younger ones. I don't know if I have any pictures of my three favorite chicks though. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

You don't really need to band your hens, unless you show them- or they look identical. Some people use zip strips, I use plastic ones with numbers. But I used to use spiral ones.

Unroll one of them all the way, and stick it around one of the legs. Make sure it's not too tight, and not too loose. You may need help.

Good luck~
