can anyone tell me why 2 of the pullets I bought at auction have a leg band on?

I have tie-straps/bands on my girls so I can tell them apart. In hindsight, I probably should have gotten different color Orpingtons instead of all buffs. Oops.

Leg bands allow us to keep good records. You can keep them or toss them, but if I were you, I'd keep them, at least while your new birds are in quarantine.
