My rooster had a green zip tie band on his foot, after I cut it off (was wrapped up in his toe) I saw the numbers 0044. Is this just a random tag or does it have a meaning of some kind? I was just curious about it.

Hatcheries tag them to identify for various reasons. You would probably have to call where you got it.

I got him from an over crowding situation, out of someone’s backyard. The birds he hatched he doesn’t tag though, im not sure how they acquired him.
