can anyone tell me why 2 of the pullets I bought at auction have a leg band on?

I don't know anything about what kind of auction you were at.......
I also don't really know a lot about different purposes people use them (i know i do for naming purposes)
If i were to get rid of my birds at an auction, I might not take the band off their leg either.......
that's just my 2 cents
