So I bought some numbered bands. How old do the birds have to be before I can put them on before falling off? Been dieing to get them on so I can manage them better. Had colored zip ties but they are to small now. Also these are curled up plastic so how do I open them up to get them on? This is what I have.

the bands will open up to put them on and return to their shape after.

It depends on the size and the size of your birds.
Wait till their legs are big enough that the band is just as much bigger as the zip tie you would have put on.
