hello, i got two chicks i have questions about. so first is the blue quail d’anver i got from ideal poultry. is the comb right for it? it looks like a single comb to me... am i wrong or is it just not up to breed standards? also doesn’t seem to have dark legs. and the second chick i got from a mix of bantams at my local feed store. its all black and seems to have “white ears” and dark legs. i was wondering what breed it may be? i thought dutch bantam but i have no clue lol i know it might be too small to tell yet but thought i would still ask.

Good morning! The light colored chick could be a Wheaten Old English. At hatch my Wheaten was almost all white with tan wings. His color changed almost daily. Sorry, I don't have a clue on the darker chick. This is my Wheaten at 3 weeks. Good luck!

The first chick doesn't look at all like a quail D'Anvers. Yellow legs and a single comb are not right for that breed. My guess is that it is a black tailed buff Japanese bantam, but it could be something else.

I think the most likely breed for the black chick is a black old English game bantam.
oh my i just realized i split an order with a friend and we just mixed up our chicks... LOL you’re so right! he ordered a black tailed buff japanese bantam 😂😂😭 i feel so silly, but i knew something was off!

Good morning! The light colored chick could be a Crele Old English. At hatch my Crele was almost all white with tan wings. His color changed almost daily. Sorry, I don't have a clue on the darker chick. This is my Crele at 3 weeks. Good luck!View attachment 2587651
