My broody hen just hatched out 7 chicks 3 days ago! 1 chick was killed by a mouse (the rest of the chicks along with the mom were moved into a safe cage in a mouse free pole barn.)now I’m trying to figure out what breeds i have. I think i have it pretty narrowed down.
the rooster is a calico Cochin, the mom is a whiter colored calico Cochin and i have a 3rd darker colored calico Cochin, i also have a gold neck d’uccle, silver sebright, an Easter egger, and a mottled Cochin, all bantams.
ill be posting separately for each chick.

Here are pics of the adults in my flock. Notice the darker and the lighter (mom) calico Cochin.

Here is the 1st chick.
It’s mostly black which is odd considering it came from either a silver laced sebright or an ee.
(It is the only one that doesn’t have a single comb) but is it a pea comb or whatever Comb sebrights have?
I think it’s from the ee because the one that died was silvery, but I didn’t see what type of comb it had. I should add, I don’t know how many sebright eggs I had, but I only had 1 blue ee egg.

#4, 5, and 6 all look the same, but 1 is darker. I think the 2 “twins” are from the mom(if I recall correctly she started sitting on 2 of her eggs, and it would make sense because those 2 were the 1st to hatch.

I think this chick has a rose comb, which would mean it came from the Sebright. I recognize rose combs by them being wider than other combs, even on baby chicks (at least, with the chick breeds I've seen.)

Edit to add: if that chick it grows white + black feathers with no brown, then it definitely has the Sebright for a mother, and is a male. A daughter of the Sebright will have brown in her feathers, due to a sex-linked gene.
