Bantam Chicken—To Cull or Not to Cull

I agree that it sounds like she may have a respiratory disease, such as mycoplasma (MG,CRD) or coryza. Those usually requires antibiotics, such as Tylan. I would check all of your chickens for possible mites. Usually a permethrin product such as Permethrin 10 spray is required to be used at least twice 7 days apart in the chickens. Then the coop bedding should be removed, and after spraying the coop, under boards and crevices, nest boxes and roosts, clean bedding is added. Mites are very difficult to get rid of and DE doesn’t work on them. Avoid straw or hay for bedding, since mites can be brought in on bales.

Your hens physical signs look like my hens which her issue was corzya. Which even if she got better she would still carry it and could infect the rest of my flock (hopefully I got her away in time) I ended up culling her for her sake and the sake of my flock as she was just to much of a risk to put back in with being a corzya carrier. I hope I am wrong in your case and it's something much better but facial swelling like that reminds me to much of my beloved Freya. I would also like to say natural cures while they can be helpful they should only be seen as complementary depending on the issue as I did try to go down that route and she acted like she was improving but it got worse hence culling her.. I really hope your girl gets well tho.
