Bantam chickens.. a friendly discussion about all pure and mixed breeds.

The breeds I've tried are very sweet without the big bird issues. I haven't had any fighting they all just get along perfectly. They are always happy.
My little Rooster/Cockerel isn't hard on the Hens at all. He loves them. I introduced 5 Pullets without first separated pens and everything went perfectly. Now they all mingle together. My Sebright is a bit more bossy although it's just her temperament.
I'd recommend Bantams...:frow

Thanks for the info! I'm definitely considering some hatching eggs in Spring. The OEGB ans Mille Fleurs are just gorgeous!

Sorry I forgot to say they also handle confinement better than most standard Birds too. Sure they like to free range although I only let them out for an hour or so each day or every other day. Plus you can have different breeds together and they all get along happily..:frow

I was reading they only get to about 2 pounds. I would love to have a roo to breed with my tiny Nn pullet here. I found bantam Turken hatching eggs!! My husband is going to kill me!

Bahahaha....:gig
My Husband doesn't like my little Bantams really. I bought Speckled Sussex this spring from the hatchery and sold them all again because I don't like big chickens anymore. :hmm..We get enough eggs to keep ourselves and my son in eggs though..:wee
Definitely order them...:D...I would...:gig

This was my Hen crazy Alice. A Silkie something cross with her Brahma/Orpington Chicks from my last flock.

:gigCrazy Alice. I love the tail!
Yes. She was a cutie. A person I know was supposed to buy my last flock but then picked them up and like an idiot I let her take my Flock and she never ever paid me. I have no idea if my Birds are okay. That was a year ago..:th
Oh well ...:idunno
I have my Bantams now and still wondering about Crazy Alice. She was my only Bantam I ever had and was like a road runner..Always running..:gig
