Hi All - I have a 5 month old bantam Cochin rooster who is mostly sweet to us and his original 5 (also bantam Cochin and Silkie) hens but I’ve been trying to integrate 3 new 4 month old silkies for weeks now and he is viscous to them. I genuinely think he will hurt them. So what is everyone’s thoughts on moving him to my standard size coop/run? There’s 12 5.5 month old hens in there. All different breeds but no bantams. I have a couple of pretty dominant hens in there. Just trying to think of a way to keep him and have it be peaceful. I should note, the two coop/runs are nowhere near each other so he has never seen my bigger girls and vice versa. TIA

I keep bantam roosters with standard hens without problems. Perhaps after he matures more he will be easier on the silkies. I too would remove him as some silkies can get brain damage if they get pecked in the head too much.
