Depends on the bird. IME, their saddles don't come in until closer to the 18 week mark.Really?? Around what age?
How did I never realize that?

The white one could very well be a pullet. I seriously doubt the black smooth is.Thanks! I'm hoping for two pullets and one cockerel! I honestly don't have a clue about them. I was at Tractor Supply and there was a sign that said "We have Bantam's in the back, ask to see them!"....I couldn't resist that tease!!! So, off I went and picked 7 out of the tub...I ended up with 3 Cochin, 3 Silkie and a Buff Brahma.
Right! Now I just have to try and remember that. Thank ye kindly.Depends on the bird. IME, their saddles don't come in until closer to the 18 week mark.
The best. All other chicken breeds are inferior. They are really sweet birds!
A lot depends on their breeding/genetics. These are hatchery stock. Sometimes they are almost like a different breed as far as their development goes.Right! Now I just have to try and remember that. Thank ye kindly.
All was going well....The best. All other chicken breeds are inferior.
