So I currently have a pair of calico/Mille fluer bantam Cochins. They are almost a year old now and I’m just wondering if anyone can tell me their opinions on the birds confirmation/ characteristics. I was interested in showing them but if they are not up to the SOP please tell what traits I should look to introduce into my program next spring. These two (Charlie) the rooster and (penny) the hen came from a breeder as chicks and have already produced a handful of babies for me and they are adorable. I apologize if the photos are not great, it was raining today so they are damp and a little withdrawn. Mostly just looking to learn more about the SOP for bantam Cochins

Hard to judge a wet chicken because it doesn't show proper tail carriage, and foot feathering can't be judged. Getting a picture when he's dry would be helpful, and him standing on a flat surface would help. His comb isn't correct. The hens tail isn't poofy enough. I'm no expert. They are good looking birds, but not show quality. Here's a link to the standards.

Awesome thank you, yes I will get more photos when they are dry. They are much poofier dry and warm lol. What is wrong with his comb? I will look through the link, thank you!

There is a divided point in his comb and his middle points are too high.
People overstress the number of points when only a 1/2 point is deducted for each extra point.
Judges do not count comb points (unless they are picking show champion maybe). As long as the comb is balanced a few extra points doesn't matter. His isn't balanced though.
Far more important than a comb, however, is the overall type. They are shallow in the body and lack the long, fluffy, profuse feathering a Cochin is known for. The tail on the cock is too low and his wings are also too low (I don't know if this is because he is wet.)
On a side note, the cock has incorrect eye coloration. Cochin eyes should be reddish-bay (reddish orange.)
