bantam cochins

I believe hes a buff or sonething close.. Kind of dark sandy blonde color? He looks same shade maybe a few shades ddarker than my buff orphington. And the girl is white.. Shes not near as adventurous friendly or charismatic as him...

I have noticed that cockerels do tend to mature quicker than pullets but the cockerel I raised did not become sexually mature until 8 months. I could tell him for sure from his sisters at 5 weeks but I think that also depends on the line you get them from
I think you are right. And the personalities are very easy to tell from very young. The girl are much mire reserved and sheltered and then you have him:

The yellowy colours for Pekins are buff, lemon and lemon Cuckoo. Buffs are really pretty they look like golden pastry

He looks lemon or buff, buff is more golden, lemon is pale, you'll be able to tell for sure when he's fully feathered and she's white. Show quality have poofy cushions (tail) and their heads should be lower than their cushion when standing

Ok thanks i was comparing him to my b.o color wise and hes darker than her more sandier, lol. He looks a little scraggly right now. He is very spunky and hes more attentive to the younger ones than her.. Funny, right?

He plays a mother hen to the fivr younger ones snuggling them while shes all being a shutin corner. Hopefully, as she gets older she will become more pleasant. Lol

The posture of the black is tellimg me it is a roo but i learned the hard way not every bantam cochin matures the same way. I had one i could tell by the first couple wks was a roo and another i thought was a girl until i saw him crow at about 3 mos. The one in the far left
on bottom, maybe a pullet. The other two resembles resemblresembles a roo.

Too young to say but i am fairly certain black is a roo, by the posture..
