Bantam death?

I had a beautiful bantam that just passed away today. For the past week I noticed her legs were getting weak, I offered her foods with vitamins and calcium in hopes she would heal. She did improve just a couple of days ago and was eating fine then today I noticed her passed away. It really is frustrating especially a beautiful bird that she was, but I won't give up raising bantams. She was the first bantam I had.

I'm very sorry for your loss.
I would recommend having her necropsied to find out what happened. That is often the only way to know for sure. There are many things that can make them sick or die, and often it can be difficult to distinguish, symptoms can be similar.

Thank you coach723. Are their maybe hardier breeds of bantams that are tougher with diseases?

It depends on what the cause is. Some breeds are hardier, usually those that are older, heritage type breeds. Game fowl breeds tend to be hardier. Anything that hasn't been bred to increase some characteristic like heavy laying, or some cosmetic trait that humans like. But all of them are susceptible to some things.

Is it possible to buy vaccinated adult chickens against diseases?

Yes, it's possible. But you need to know what you want to vaccinate for. Not everything has a vaccination for it. And vaccinations do not guarantee 100% effectiveness. There are cancers that are common for which there is no vaccination. Bacterial and fungal infections don't have vaccinations. Reproductive problems are common in hens. Most back yard keepers who want vaccinated birds buy vaccinated chicks (many hatcheries will vaccinate - you check what you want when you order) and those that they hatch at home are most often not, so many mixed flocks of vaccinated and not. Vaccinations usually come in bottles of very large amounts, so expensive and wasteful for most keepers. It would really be best to know what happened to your bird, and then to make decisions based on that information.

I had a neoprsy done on her. I noticed their was this small yellow-orange ball inside her near the intestine . Not sure if this has something to do being sick. It didn't look like an egg yolk the inside was whitish.
