Love this thread - Robert great idea - thanks for starting it! I appreciate all the info and pictures of these very sweet little creatures.

OK, I hope ya'll don't mind, but I wanted to post a picture of our handsome little guy that did pretty well at his last show.
His name is Piglet and we got him from Lee Morey(awesome guy) at Shawnee. He doesn't particularly like to get in the pool, hence his name.

Thanks, purplefrog-we are really proud of him.
He is a very quiet, unassuming little guy but man did he show himself well.

EastTxChick, your guy Piglet is adorable! Any helpful hints on getting a duck ready for shows? I am new to ducks and we have a show coming at the end of this month....so excited and nervous at the same time!

Honestly, I pull mine a couple of days before the show to try to keep them clean-we all spend a LOT of time playing in the hose, little pools, etc.
I got all of my great tips from duckluck, honestly.
She told me to make sure I had a bucket(for a last dunk before they go in the show cages), soft toothbrush(for cleaning legs and bills) and a little olive oil to rub on the bills in case they are dry/flaky.
I was sick to my stomach for a few days before the show, but once I got there, I was so busy, I didn't have time to be nervous.
You'll have a fantastic time-don't worry!
Thanks for the compliment of our Piglet.

So you let the little duck take a dunk before putting them in the actual cage at the show?
